Jharkhand Judicial Service 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility and Age Limit:
- Educational qualification & Practice of Law:
- One must posses Degree of Law (LLB) from a recognized University preferably by the BCI.
- He/she must be enrolled as an advocate via the Advocates, Act, 1961 until last date of submission of the application form.
- Valid & active application and registration is mandatory to appear for the exam.
- A suspended Registration will be denied appearance.
- The fee for application for all the candidates who belong to the general category will be Rs. 400.
- And the Candidates of the reserved category will be required to pay Rs. 100 towards the application fee.
General Requirements: He/she must be a citizen Of India in sound health, with a good moral character and must not be linked to or have a history with any criminal case involving moral.
Age limit: Lower limit of the age requirement for a candidate to appear for the exam is 22 years while the upper limit for the age requirement for a candidate to appear for the exam is 35 years as on the date indicated in the notice by the high court. In the case of female candidates, or candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe there are given the relaxation of the upper age limit by three years
Jharkhand Judicial Service Exam Pattern
Syllabus
- The Preliminary Entrance Test will test you for:
- General English
- General Knowledge including Current Affairs
- The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
- The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
- The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
- The Law of Contract, 1872.
- The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
- The Preliminary Entrance Test shall be of 100 marks in aggregate.
- Duration of Preliminary Entrance Test shall be of two hours.
Syllabus – Jharkhand Judicial Service Civil Judge (Junior Division) Main Exam
The Main exam will consist of four papers of 100 marks each, comprising of questions on the following subjects. Each paper will be for three hours.
Paper – I
- Procedural Law (The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 and The Code of Criminal Procedure,1973).
- The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
- The Limitation Act, 1963.
- The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
Paper-II
- The Contract Act, 1872
- The Sales of Goods Act, 1930
- The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996
- The Transfer of Property Act, 1882
- The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881
Paper – III
- The Hindu Law and The Mohammedan Law
- The Specific Relief Act, 1963
- Jurisprudence
- Rent Control Law
Paper – IV
Hindi & English language test with Essay, writing, Translation & Paraphrasing
