Maharashtra Judicial Service Civil Judge

Pay Scale of Maharashtra Judicial Service Civil Judge

Rs. 27,700 – 44,770/-, with usual dearness allowance and other allowances as sanctioned by the government of Maharashtra.

Eligibility of Maharashtra Judicial Service Civil Judge Exam

  • Applicant must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidate must have acquired a bachelor degree in law from a recognized institute or university.
  • The age of the candidates must be less than or equal to 35 years.
  • The candidates of the SC and ST category will get 3 years relaxation in their upper age.

Pattern & Syllabus of Maharashtra Judicial Service Civil Judge Exam

The examination process for Maharashtra Judicial Service Civil Judge Exam typically occurs in 3 phases:

  1. Preliminary Exam (Objective type)
  2. Main Exam (Subjective type)
  3. Interview

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination (Screening Test) shall consist of the Objective type questions of 100 marks out of which 90 marks will cover :

One paper of 100 marks (duration not less than 2 hours) to test English

Paper-II

One paper of 100 marks (duration not less than 2 hours) to test General Knowledge

  • Objective Test
  • Aptitude Test
Paper-III

One paper of 100 marks (duration not less than 2 hours) regarding objective questions and problems of law as regards-

  • Transfer of Property Act
  • Constitution of India
  • Civil Procedure Code
  • Indian Contract Act
Paper-IV

One paper of 100 marks (duration not less than 2 hours) consisting of –

  • Indian Penal Code
  • Criminal Procedure Code
  • Law of Torts
  • Indian Evidence Act

Interview / Viva-voce Details

The interview / viva voce carries a maximum of 50 marks. Candidates would need to score at least 20 marks to get selected.
