NLET LLB Overview

NEF Law College, affiliated to Gauhati University, conducts NEF law entrance test also known as NLET in order to provide admission to candidates in LLB and LLM programmes offered by the college.

Eligibility for NLET LLB

  • As per Bar Council of India (BCI) Rule, a candidate for admission to the three years course must be Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University with at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) can apply for admission into the Programme
  • Reservation as per norms laid in relevant Act/ rule of Govt/Gauhati University/Bar Council of India

Exam Pattern of NLET LLB

NEF law entrance test (NLET) exam pattern is such that the question paper will contain both multiple choice and long answer-type questions that candidates need to complete in a duration of 2.5 hours. NLET will contain 182 questions that will be divided into six sections as mentioned in the table below.

Marking scheme for multiple choice questions:

  • Candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking in the exam.
  • It may be noted that the college does not inform about the marking scheme of long answer-type questions.
