The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is India’s most important law entrance exam, conducted once every year by the Consortium of NLUs. What is CLAT?

CLAT is conducted for admission to 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) offering 5-year integrated law programs (BA LL.B, BBA LL.B, etc). Several top private law colleges also accept CLAT scores.


✅ CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: Class 12 with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Age Limit: No upper age limit.
  • Allowed Attempts: Unlimited.
  • Nationality: Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs and PIOs can apply.

📝 CLAT 2027 Exam Pattern

The paper contains 120 MCQs to be solved in 2 hours. All questions are passage-based.

CLAT is conducted for admission into 5-year integrated law programs at 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) and many private law colleges.

Any student who has passed or is appearing in Class 12 with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) is eligible. There is no age limit.

CLAT UG consists of 120 passage-based multiple-choice questions, to be solved in 2 hours. Each correct answer gives +1, and each wrong answer deducts 0.25.

English Language, Current Affairs & GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques (Class 10 level).

A score of 85+ usually puts you in contention for top NLUs, though exact cut-offs vary each year depending on difficulty and competition.
