1. (a) What is a Police report ?
(b) Define Judicial Proceeding.
(c) What is the difference between Inquiry and Investigation?
(d) Distinguish between charge and offence.
(e) Define the term complaint.

2. Discuss the provisions regarding medical examination of the victim of rape as enumerated in the criminal procedure code.

3. When an accused shall be discharged in warrant triable case instituted otherwise than on police report ? What is the effect of absence of complainant in a complaint case ?

4. When can a court issue commission to examine a witness ? Under what circumstances evidence in a trial can be recorded in absence of the accused ?

5. What are the limitations for taking cognizance of certain offences ? Can a court extend the period of limitation in certain cases ?

6. (i) Oive the meaning of the following terms as provided in the original side rules of the High Court, Calcutta ; (a) Acting (b) Judge
(ii) Answer according to the provisions of Appellate Side Rules of High Court, Calcutta :
(a) Any three main functions of the administrative committee.
(b) Write a note on ‘Special Committee’.

7. Discuss the provisions under High Court original Side Rules regarding institution of a suit by an indigent person. How can such suit be compromised ?

8. Under what circumstances, according to Calcutta High Court Original Side Rules, a matter is referred to the Full Bench ? What is the effect of any decision of such Full Bench ?

9. What are the provisions in the High Court Appellate Side Rules for effective control and supervision of subordinate courts in the district?

10. Mention one particulars required to be furnished in a Caveat as provided in the High Court Appellate Side Rules. What is done if the caveat is found to be defective.
